Located within a 10 minute walk Enniscrone Golf Links was founded in 1918, redesigned by Eddie Hackett in 1974 and by Donald Steel in 2001, this Irish championship course is one of Ireland's finest authentic golf links. Apart for the championship links known as The Dunes, there is also the splendid Scurmore course.
Enniscrone is among the finest and most challenging of traditional Irish links golf courses and offers 27 holes on 400 acres of magnificent links land, featuring the par 73 Dunes Championship Links Course. The Dunes is one of Ireland’s top-ranked championship links courses; voted “Best in Connacht” by Golfers Guide to Ireland; repeatedly a top-15 links course in Golf Digest’s review of Irish golf courses and a perennial Top-100 UK course from Golf World. A “must play” as described by American golf novelist Tom Coyne.
Under an hour drive from Enniscrone, County Sligo Golf Club is situated at Rosses Point, a seaside village eight kilometres north west of Sligo town, and is one of the oldest and best known links courses in Ireland. The club was founded in 1894 on land leased from Henry Middleton. He was an uncle of W.B. Yeats, the famous poet and Nobel Prize winner for literature, and his brother Jack B Yeats, the noted landscape painter.
The links are set out on one of the most scenic locations in Ireland - bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the west; Benbulben dominates the view on the northern skyline and bears a striking resemblance to Cape Town's Table Mountain. To the east lie Glencar valley and the Dartry mountains with Lugnagall and Truskmore, while the southern vista is completed by Knocknarea, topped by a large Cairn of stones reputed to be the grave of the ' Warrior Queen Maeve of Connaught'.

Carne Golf Links is 1 hour drive away and lies in magnificent unspoiled sand dunes overlooking Black Sod bay & the wild Atlantic Ocean near Belmullet Co. Mayo in the West of Ireland. Carne Golf Links was the last links course to be designed by the late Eddie Hackett and it is now believed by many who have played it, to be his greatest challenge. The building of Carne Golf Links has caused little disturbance to this wild and ancient landscape. Tees and greens occurred naturally and very little earth moving was involved in the golf course construction. There are some breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean and the legendary islands of Inis Gloire and Inis Geidhe.
